Cartons look like card but are a laminate of paper, plastic and aluminium. St Albans takes them in the black recycling bin, and specifically keeps them OUT of the paper & card boxes.
Getting it right
Give cartons a quick rinse and push the plastic cap back on.
This covers juice cartons, milk cartons, soup and passata cartons.
Don't put cartons in your paper & card boxes — the laminate contaminates paper recycling.
